Essential storage supports sign-in, security, and your saved choices. Google and Vercel analytics and optional sign-in/referral storage are off until you allow them. You can reject optional cookies and still use Academy. Browsing alone is not consent.

Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small records stored by your browser and sent to the relevant website. Local storage stays in the browser until cleared or expired by the browser. We use both for the purposes below. Similar storage may be used by providers when you sign in, use a protected form, or pay.
MyTrial Inc. operates MyTrial Academy, formerly FreeGCP. Some existing storage names still contain FreeGCP so previously saved choices and referrals remain compatible.
Storage we use
Authentication and Essential Storage
Essential
Secure the Academy, maintain sign-in sessions you request, remember the browser's consent record, and keep a welcome message closed when you dismiss it.
- Clerk __session: Short-lived Academy session token

Clerk's Academy session token is short-lived; longer-lived client state follows provider, session, and browser limits. The Academy asks for a new optional-cookie choice after 6 months. The welcome dismissal cookie lasts up to 400 days; its local storage copy remains until cleared, subject to browser limits.

Google Analytics browser identifiers can persist for up to 2 years; we re-request the browser choice after 6 months.
Sign-in Convenience & Referral Cookies
Optional — requires consent
Offer the optional Google One Tap sign-in prompt and remember a member referral so a later signup can be credited.
- Google Identity Services g_state: One Tap sign-out and prompt state

- freegcp_ref_id (30 days): Referral record identifier
Referral cookies expire after 30 days; Google prompt-state storage follows Google and browser limits. Referral records follow the retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.
Referral Attribution Cookies: When you allow this purpose, an Academy referral click and subsequent signup or certification can be linked to the referring member. Declining this purpose does not affect course access.
Google Analytics cookie expiry and server-side event retention are separate settings. The browser identifiers can last up to two years; actual duration is subject to Google and browser limits. We ask for a new browser choice after six months. You can withdraw earlier.
Service providers
Clerk: Provides sign-in and session security. Authentication state, account identifiers, and technical information are processed for that service. See Clerk's privacy notice.
Google Analytics: Receives page and engagement events, device categories, traffic sources, and approximate location only after analytics consent. This includes whether the FreeGCP welcome message is displayed and which training links are selected. Advertising storage, Google signals, and ad personalization remain off. See Google's data responsibility notice.
Google Identity Services: Optional Google One Tap may use the g_state cookie for sign-out and prompt state; supported browsers manage the identity prompt through FedCM. Google profile details are shared for sign-in only after you approve the prompt. The regular sign-in option remains available without enabling this convenience.
Stripe: Processes payments and uses browser and device information to operate checkout and prevent fraud. Storage depends on the checkout flow. See Stripe's Cookie Policy; Academy does not store full payment-card details.
Cloudflare Turnstile: Helps protect forms against abuse. It processes technical request and browser signals to distinguish legitimate traffic. This security check is separate from optional analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Vercel: Web Analytics and Speed Insights provide cookieless, aggregated page-use and performance measurement. These flows follow the Analytics choice in Cookie Settings. According to Vercel, its analytics identifiers expire daily and are not used to reconstruct browsing across days; Speed Insights measures Core Web Vitals. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Our Privacy Policy explains international processing and how to request more information. Provider storage can vary by feature, browser, and provider update; this page describes purposes rather than claiming a fixed cookie count.
Your choices
Choose Accept All, Reject All, or Manage Choices in the banner. Cookie Settings provides separate choices for Analytics and Sign-in & Referral. Essential storage cannot be disabled through this panel because it supports the service you request.
Your choice applies to this browser. It is stored locally, and a signed-in choice may also be recorded in your account's consent history. Account email preferences are separate. Clearing browser storage, changing browsers, or expiry of the choice may cause the banner to appear again.
When Do Not Track is enabled, optional analytics and sign-in/referral storage remain off. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection and triggers best-effort removal of accessible analytics and referral cookies. It does not automatically erase information already lawfully processed or storage controlled by another domain.
You may also delete or block storage using your browser settings. Blocking essential storage can prevent sign-in or checkout. Nothing in this Cookie Policy overrides privacy rights or consumer protections that apply to you.
Privacy rights and contact
Our Privacy Policy explains access, correction, deletion, objection, portability, and other rights that may apply to you, including the process for authorized agents and complaints to regulators.
Academy is intended for people aged 16 or older, with parental permission where required by our Terms. Contact us if you believe a child below the permitted age has provided personal information.
For a question or request, use the privacy contact form. We update this notice when relevant practices change and request new consent where required. A change to this policy does not itself grant consent.
