Central Monitoring & Key Risk Indicators

How centralized review complements site monitoring, and what its signals mean for the records you keep.

  • Explain how central monitoring can complement site review
  • Distinguish a key risk indicator from a quality tolerance limit
  • Keep site records that read cleanly to a central reviewer

ICH E6(R3) describes monitoring as a broad range of activities. Sponsors tailor the approach to the trial’s design and identified risks, using site, remote, and centralized monitoring as appropriate.

Centralized monitoring evaluates accumulated data in a timely way. It can reveal systemic or site-specific issues, complement site monitoring, or help target where closer review is needed.

ICH E6(R3) · §3.10“The sponsor should implement an appropriate system to manage quality throughout all stages of the trial process.”

A credential should travel farther than a résumé.

Finish the track and you get a dated public verification record. Share its link; the proof opens in one click.

Five clinical research professionals reviewing a study record together in a site records room

A global profession, learning together.

Coordinators, monitors, investigators, and regulatory staff learn the same GCP they practice on site.

The things people ask about clinical research training.

Answers about the tracks, GCP, the completion record, and the certificate.

What does the clinical research training include?
Training is organized as career tracks. Good Clinical Practice (ICH E6(R3)) is the foundation, and specialized role tracks build on it. Each track has required exams and ends in a publicly verifiable completion record.
Is the GCP track genuinely free?
Yes. The full Good Clinical Practice (ICH E6(R3)) curriculum, the required exams, and a verifiable completion record are all free, and no card is required. The only paid extra is the optional TransCelerate-recognized PDF certificate.
What is the difference between the record and the certificate?
The completion record proves you finished Good Clinical Practice training, and it is free and publicly verifiable. The optional PDF is the printable version, with a ledger ID and QR code for audits and inspections. MyTrial Academy's GCP training is TransCelerate-recognized.
Will an employer recognize it?
MyTrial Academy's GCP training is TransCelerate-recognized. Whether to accept a training program is each sponsor's or employer's own decision, and every credential carries a public verification record they can check in seconds.
Do the paid tracks include a certificate?
Yes. Every paid track includes its certificate. The only separate fee is the optional PDF on the free GCP track.
How long does a track take?
Good Clinical Practice is about 25 hours and the Clinical Research Coordinator track about 100. Every track is self-paced and your progress is saved as you go.
Do I need prior clinical research experience?
No. Tracks start at Good Clinical Practice fundamentals and build from there; the role tracks assume GCP knowledge but teach it in context where it matters.
